6 Jan - The Holy Well - 985.7 miles to go

A bit of a random ramble today, starting at the edge of Southam (SP413617). past the Holy Well, sploshing past the modernised Stoneythorpe Hall then northwards towards Bascote. After that along the road to pick up the path opposite the southern edge of Long Itchington Wood (also known as Ufton Wood) and back to Southam.

4.4 miles.

It's a walk that's good in parts, suffering in places from alterations to the environment. The most pleasant part is the wandering path between the woodland and Stoneythorpe Hall on the way back. This stretch will be affected by the HS2 railway, as the tunnel under Ufton Wood will dive below the ground somewhere here.

Another Wellington walk - nothing else will do

One day the HS2 railway will be ploughing under the ground here.
